Our Client in the financial Service industry is looking to hire for the role of Head of Accounts.
Job Requirements
- B.Sc./HND degree in accounting or related field.
- (ACCA ACA) Certified.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office software and Excel.
- 5-8 years of experience creating financial statements and working in audit and financial control, including supervisory roles.
- Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures in line with IFRS standard
- Coordinate and prepare budgets on a monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, and annual basis, including budgetary control and variance reporting.
- Ensure accurate and timely recording of business transactions in the general ledger, including commissions earned, claims remittance, and settlements.
- Prepare monthly Management Performance Reports (MPR) and financial statements.
- Manage funds efficiently, identifying investment opportunities and maintaining liquidity and cash flow.
- Prepare regulatory returns as required on a monthly, quarterly, and bi-annual basis.
- Support month-end and year-end accounting processes, including reconciliation, petty cash management, cost review, and variance analysis.
- Manage tax matters and liaise with relevant tax authorities and external auditors.
- Ensure effective control over company assets and financial records, developing and monitoring best practice policies, systems, and procedures.
- Maintain integrity of financial information and accurate records of company inventories.
- Supervise invoicing, payroll processing, and receivables management.
- Provide effective people administration and management, including communication, mentoring, and coaching of subordinates.
- Supervise and oversee administration affairs within the organization.
- Prepare and submit financial documentation as required by management.
- Possess excellent knowledge of funds and investment management, as well as insurance policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Identify financial and administrative strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats (SWOT) and propose cost-saving and process improvement suggestions.
- Review bank reconciliations and control accounts.
